TRP - Farewell (End of Coruscant Event)
After helping Richie purchase some banthas and arrange for their transport to the ships, Obi-Wan Kenobi retreats back to the Jedi Temple. Seeking refuge in what was once his home upon the eve of their departure. The peace and quiet of the building in the late hours of the evening was a welcome one. Most Jedi were sleeping soundly, and Obi-Wan walked through the empty halls, finding a meditation chamber to sit in all to himself. It's there that he sat, the lights turned low, a candle lit and some incense burning. He needed this peace, these last moments in which to strengthen himself for their departure in the morning.
However, there was at least one Jedi who was awake and who had noticed him. A couple hours into his meditation, Master Fae Coven politely came to the chamber that Obi-Wan had sat himself in. He could feel her presence, and her gentle questioning through the Force.
"You may come in Master Fae," he said while opening his eyes.
The elderly Jenet then entered with a wrapped box. "You are leaving us," she said, knowing full well that the departure of Obi-Wan and his group was imminent.
"Yes," he responded quietly, motioning for her to sit with him, which she did.
Setting the box she had brought to the side, she looked at Obi-Wan, reaching out to sense his feelings which he openly let her do. "You're sad," she pointed out. "You do not wish to go back."
"No, master," Obi-Wan confirmed. He would not lie to her about that. Plus there would be no point in it. Not with her.
Master Fae's face softened in compassion as she nodded. "Yet you must. This is not where you are meant to be, and you have a responsibility to the young ones in your care. I understand." She and the other Jedi would gladly accept them and let them stay, but she knew it wasn't possible. "You and your padawans have been through a great deal. I have felt so much pain from all of you. I regret that I was not able to do more."
Obi-Wan blinked at that and shook his head. "No. No Master Fae, you have done more for us than I could have ever asked. I have been humbled by your kindness. It means more than I have words to express."
She just smiled at him knowingly, reaching out to touch his hand. "You have a difficult journey ahead of you, Obi-Wan. I hope that your stay here has helped to strengthen you. The Force guided you here, and it will continue to light your way as you move forward. Take heart and do not mourn. As you well know, all things are fleeting."
"Yes master," Obi-Wan said softly, knowing that she was right even as his feelings simmered under the surface. While he wouldn't admit it, he was already homesick for this place, for his people. How could he not mourn in some small way? His eyes turned down as they glimmered with that emotion. Despite how he felt renewed during his visit to the temple, in that moment he didn't feel strong at all. He knew quite well that he would likely never have this again.
Despite his feeble attempts, those feelings could not be hidden from Master Fae. She reached out to him and gently pulling him close into an embrace. "Oh young one," she said softly, quietly comforting him. Obi-Wan closed his eyes and bit back a sob. Valiantly managing to hold it together even as he felt like falling apart, feeling a bit of shame at such a display. Master Fae did not judge him though. She just held him in that moment, like a mother would a child. Letting him have his moment.
After a few minutes he better composed himself and pulled back, able to look at the master again. She just smiled serenely and motioned to the box beside her. "A gift for you. To open once you have returned from where you came from."
Obi-Wan looked to the box and nodded his understanding, then reached into his cloak and pulled out a holocron, holding it out to her. "I have this for you as well," he said. She took the glowing cube, looking at it and then back at him with a bit of confusion and curiosity. "Don't view it until after we leave. I trust your wisdom Master Fae, and that you will know what to do with the information on it."
"Very well," she said while holding the holocron close. She then rose to her feet, reaching out again to touch his cheek. "May the Force be with you Obi-Wan Kenobi. Know that no matter what happens, our thoughts go with you. Do not forget who you are, and that this is your home. Even if it may feel far away, you always have a place here. So long as you remember that, we will be with you in spirit."
Rising to his feet as well, Obi-Wan bowed deeply in his respect and gratitude to the master. "Of course Master Fae, I will always remember. Thank you. And may the Force be with you."
With one last smile she departed, allowing Obi-Wan to be with his own thoughts once again.
-----------------
As he requested, Master Fae waited until the next day, well after the group from Agra 10 had departed. Alone in her own quarters, Master Fae set and held out her hands. The holocron that she had been given floating between them as it opened before her and showed the image of the Jedi who had recorded it. Obi-Wan Kenobi standing there as a small blue hologram.
"To any Jedi that views this, I am Obi-Wan Kenobi and I come from 900 years after the time of this recording. By the will of the Force I have been brought back to this time, perhaps for the very reason of giving you this message.
The Sith are still alive. They have survived the wars and are in hiding. Be vigilant and do not become complacent. A time will come when they will reveal themselves. Be mindful, for their influence over the darkside can cloud your judgement and lead us astray.
But have courage as the Chosen One is coming. He can bring balance to the Force. However, he must not fall into the hands of the Sith. If he does, everything we know and love will be lost.
Please, heed my warning and do not allow the Sith to rise again. I dare not say more than this. May the Force be with us all."
It was there that the recording ended, leaving Master Fae in stunned disbelief.
