CHARACTER NAME: Obi-Wan Kenobi
CHARACTER AGE: 38
SERIES: Star Wars
CHRONOLOGY: Post Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
CLASS: Hero
HOUSING: Random Housing
BACKGROUND: Wookieepedia Entry
This is a reapplication. Obi-Wan ported in over a year ago and was around for several months before porting out again. During his time here, he met with many he knew from his own reality. Learning about his future and the future of his galaxy affected him tremendously as he discovered the consequences of what happened in his time. His guilt for failing Anakin only increasing several fold as he discovered the suffering of those to come.
He also had the opportunity to meet with Padme and Anakin, telling them of what was to come in their futures as well from his perspective. The retelling of his experience with Order 66 and the fall of the Jedi was painful one. However, it needed to be done and allowed them all to fully realize the gravity of what would happen should they return home. Being reunited with his friends and loved ones though gave Obi-Wan a chance for healing in a way that he wouldn't have in their own galaxy.
However, not all those from his galaxy were friends as Count Dooku was also present. There was a mishap in an investigation Obi-Wan had been conducting involving a local crime organization that was connected to the Count. The Jedi unknowingly getting too close for comfort to revealing what Dooku was truly up to. This led to his capture and murder at the hands of the Sith Lord. His memory of the incident also being wiped before his death, so that when he returned, he would have no recollection of what actually happened. It was very effective as his body had been destroyed and his lightsaber used as a means to mislead anyone investigating his murder. When he did return, the experience of his death and having no memory of what happened was an unsettling one. Obi-Wan spent much time in meditation and mental anguish trying to figure out what had happened to him. He would never know until Count Dooku was forced to confess all of his misdeeds, including Obi-Wan's murder. While the count was in prison, Obi-Wan confronted him about the matter, extending goodwill and forgiveness to the Sith Lord much to his surprise. This allowed the Jedi Master to find peace. Shortly after, he was ported out.
PERSONALITY:
Obi-Wan had been with and trained by the Jedi Order since he was a very small child. Because of that he's grown into a very powerful but disciplined Jedi Master. In his youth he was quite headstrong and even defiant, just as his Master was. However, as he's grown older those traits have diminished somewhat with his experience and maturity. As a strict follower of the Jedi Code, he's able to keep his emotions and feelings well under control in most circumstances and is thus usually very calm and focused. He has always been taught and known that fear and anger leads to the dark side, and for that he represses these feelings. Though there was at least one or two instances where he has nearly given over to anger in relating to his late Master and the Sith Lord who killed him.
As a Padawan he was apprenticed to Qui-Gon Jinn. Since Jedi are discovered as very young children and taken from their families to be trained, they essentially have no family. Thus the bond between master and apprentice is the closest thing they have to a child-parent relationship with anyone. It was no different in Obi-Wan's case as he viewed Qui-Gon to not only be his friend and mentor, but a father figure as well. Thus the two of them were very close. Witnessing the death of his master at the hands of a Sith Lord was nothing short of devastating. It is human to feel anger in such circumstances, and while he was tempted to give in to this during the fight with Darth Maul, he managed not to. However, he was faced with this yet again upon discovering that Darth Maul had survived their previous fight, once again tempted to give into his anger but managing not to. If he had, it could have possibly led him down a very dark path.
Instead with age and experience he became a cautious and conservative mentor to his own apprentice, though some times perhaps a bit too critical of him. In his dying moments Qui-Gon had asked Obi-Wan to train Anakin Skywalker, who he believed to be the Chosen One that would bring balance to the Force. Obi-Wan gave him his word and followed through, taking Anakin as his Padawan learner. Practically raising the boy the two of them became very close. Just as Qui-Gon had with him, he loved Anakin like a brother and they shared a father/son relationship as Obi-Wan trained and practically raised the boy. They have been through a lot together, including fighting side by side during the Clone Wars. Thus when Anakin turned to the Dark Side and ultimately betrayed him and the rest of the Jedi, it was devastating. However, Obi-Wan had to do his duty and faced his apprentice in a duel which ended in Anakin's defeat upon severing his legs. Despite that, Obi-Wan could not bring himself to kill Anakin, even though he probably should have. Hearing Anakin screaming the words 'I hate you', and the gruesome sight of watching him get burned alive, is something that will haunt Obi-Wan for the rest of his life.
With kindness and gentleness Obi-Wan would rather avoid physical confrontations and thus prefers diplomacy, which has earned him the reputation of 'The Negotiator' among many star systems. But he will not hesitate to jump into action if he needs to. He usually thinks and plans before making his moves, rather than just rushing into things. Though he certainly can be quite bold as he has dropped in among a fleet of droids that easily outnumbered him in a fight. While he is often serious, he isn't without a sense of humor and has a bit of sarcastic wit as shown with his bantering back and forth with Anakin. Sometimes even getting a little defensive in the process. While Jedi aren't supposed to have attachments to people or things, Obi-Wan has shown himself to be friendly and very personable. He tends to make friends wherever he goes.
Obi-Wan has always shown himself to be studious and has not only grown very knowledgeable, but is also wise beyond his years. This wisdom, patience, and experience managed to gain him a seat on the Jedi Council. A high honor that most Master Jedi do not achieve as only a small percentage of them get this honor. He was extremely loyal to the Jedi Order, the Republic, and to democracy. Thus when the Republic ultimately fell, and the Jedi Order destroyed, it was a shock that shook him to his core. Though at the same time it wasn't entirely unexpected as he had been witnessing the gradual corruption of the Senate for some time, particularly in regards to Chancelor Palpatine whom he had believed to be dangerous and untrustworthy, only to end up being a Sith Lord.
Even though he is compassionate, he will do what needs to be done for the good of all. Even those closest to him could not override his sense of duty and what he feels to be right, as he had to make some very difficult decisions upon the fall of the Republic. Including the break up of the Order and having to go into hiding, unable to do anything about the fall of the Republic or the Force being shrouded in darkness. The most difficult though was having to face Anakin after he had turned to the dark side and killed all the Jedi in the temple. This having been the most difficult time he's had to face, leaving him anguished and sorrowful. In part he blames himself for not seeing the signs sooner and acting upon them.
POWER:
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Force-Sensitive Individual, so I will be looking for him to have one umbrella ability as The Force which allows him to have multiple abilities due to use of the Force. He is a devout follower of the Light-Side of the Force. Though that doesn't mean he couldn't potentially turn to the Dark Side, that would certainly be an unlikely event. Though he will also be coming with his lightsaber, I don't know if that would count as a power or not. If it does, that would be his second power.
The Force
The Force allows a Force Sensitive individual varying skills, and while some focus on certain ones rather than others, Obi-Wan is a sort of Jack-of-all-trades Jedi.
The Force gives him heightened senses, physical strength, and endurance. As well as the ability to heal faster than an ordinary human being. He is also proficient in basic Force healing, where he can use the Force to heal another individual with the energy of the Force. It also allows him to perform spectacular physical feats such as being able to leap great heights/distances, or allow him to land from a high height without injury. Other physical abilities can include things such as the ability to hold his breath underwater or in a toxic air environment for a long duration. Or to slow down his metabolism during meditation in order to use less energy in a survival situation or just to meditate for days on end without moving.
The Force also gives him greater mental prowess as well. For example, he can sense all life that is around him and certain beings with distinctive Force signatures. This would be more obvious to him with people who are "strong" in the Force. Yet, if you're walking around a corner at the same time he is, he will be able to avoid you because he knew you were there to begin with. He can also sense a person's feelings, even their thoughts if he were to look into someone's mind deep enough. Though generally the Jedi don't do this without permission or there being any need to. However, Obi-Wan is a master of the Jedi Mind Trick. Which is the ability to manipulate the thoughts and mind of someone who is weak willed. An example of this would be telling someone who was pointing a firearm at him to lower their gun and imposing his will on them, causing them to lower the gun. He can see things just before they happen, resulting in exceptionally fast reflexes. The Force can also grant him visions of the future, either spontaneously or with specific meditation.

COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:
[Today on network theater, one Jedi appears on a video feed with a rather serious look on his face. The many seems to be in a nature setting, probably that of one of the local parks.]
Greetings everyone, I have a question for those of you who are more familiar to this planet than I am.
[His tone of seriousness matches that of his expression. Surely it must be something dire right? Or at he very least of utmost importance. Hopefully you are all paying attention!]
I'm still not very familiar with the local flora and fauna of Earth, and while most creatures have decided to leave me alone, this has recently changed. I have spotted one such creature with copious amounts of fur that seems intent on pursuing me. I'm not exactly sure yet on its intentions. It seems to have fangs and sharp claws, undeniably a carnivore.
[His device is then turned around to show this strange creature. This video feed now showing a... very fluffy kitten.]
Does anyone know what this is? It seems friendly enough at the very least.
[But who knows! It could have a venomous bite. Poison tipped claws! Because you know... in Star Wars that sort of thing is not unusual.]
LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE: Test Drive Meme
FINAL NOTES:
Obi-Wan will be coming over with his lightsaber! This is a weapon that has a blue plasma blade and can cut through almost any material. It is powered by a small kyber crystal in its hilt. He will also be coming with a standard Jedi utility belt which holds basic Jedi mission articles such as an aquata breather, a holo emitter, and ration capsules.
