[It's mostly surprise. Surprise and disbelief, but not really horror. After all, there are worse things that studying to be separated from your family for at such a young age. Plus, the Jedis hardly seem as though they would be cruel to the children they take in...it's simply a different way of being raised.]

No doubt, that is exactly how things will play out for a while. But...the Jedi came from somewhere initially, right? Is it not possible that those born with sensitivity can learn to control their powers through their own experimentation? And is it not just as possible that those who are kind-hearted might eventually form an order similar to the Jedi? One that focuses on using their abilities for good, rather than evil?
