Each Jedi has their flaws, myself included. The fact that he knew his mother, where most don't, did put him at a disadvantage.

Proper training should have made this a non-issue, however, no one counted on him being in close contact with someone who used the Dark Side.

Not necessarily sever, but rather, one can learn to let go.

From what I understand, any trace of the Jedi were practically erased from the galaxy. On top of that, it sounds like he will only receive a limited amount of training.

That is certainly not something he can be held at fault for.

My master, yes. There's likely not a single Padawan who isn't to some degree.

But I also fell in love once.

And I admittedly have some attachment to your grandfather.

The only difference between me and him is, I learned to let go, to not allow them to affect me in the way he did.

So you chose loyalty to the Jedi Order and the Light over loyalty to your attachments... and my grandfather, faced with the same choice, chose to put his family first.

Though Anakin did have other options, if he had only taken them.

He was manipulated and lied to. By the Sith. Until he believed he had no other option.

Essentially, yes. To the point he couldn't even trust those who cared about him most.

He was surrounded by Jedi masters. Why could none of them save him? Why couldn't they see?

I should have been able to see it more than anyone.

And for that, I'm afraid I don't have a good answer.

Perhaps the Sith had the ability to alter your perceptions.

Without being physically present.

Communication through the Force across vast distance is possible.

I can't say for sure it doesn't.

If I were to think I knew everything the Force was capable of, I would be arrogant.
