[ ooc: Maybe backdated a little bit? Would you feel okay with that? Or we can assume they haven't had a chance to do this before Jan? ]
[ Charles finally managed to invite Mr. Kenobi to a lunch in a small restaurant in downtown De Chima. He's been to the place a few times before, they have a wonderful pasta salad that he likes to order. The waitress removes one of the chairs around the table for him so he can fit his chair nice and easy on one side of it while he waits for Mr. Kenobi. ]
[Things have been, well, pretty hectic this past month. The joy of this earthly holiday though did help to ease some of the stress however. Obi-Wan was still growing accustomed to this planet and its ways, but the Jedi was starting to settle in despite the hardships that ensued.
The invitation was a welcome one, and while he didn't know De Chima very well yet, he still managed to get there on time. The robed Jedi was not hard to miss when he walked in. Another waitress directing him to the table where Charles was sitting.]
Hello there.
[Obi-Wan's voice was warm and friendly as he came to the table, extending a hand to the wheelchair bound man.]
It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, Mr. Xavier.
[The entire town of MFalls was covered in plant matter and killer plants. Last she spoke to Obi-wan he was not only without the force, but recovering from being dead. So of course she was going to text him to warn him to stay at Kanan's place.]
I don't know if you have seen Padme's message, but home isn't exactly safe at the moment. I believe it's only located in this city, but please, if you could, stay at Kanan and Hera's place for a bit longer.
[ It feels strange, to know that distance has crept between them here, with everything that's happened, that's been talked over and forced into daylight, with everything they've both been dealing with.
She misses their comraderie, how close and easy it had been for so long. Even if Mustafar will always remain in the background, she hopes that one day they will regain that. ]
[He missed it too actually. But Mustafar had changed so much, and left them all scarred, even if Anakin hadn't experienced it yet. While they all weren't exactly starting over again, it may take time before things became normal between all of them. Still, that didn't mean he wasn't happy to hear from his friends.
Though Obi-Wan wouldn't respond right away. A few minutes later though, he did. Seeing her text and sending back a reply.]
Well, I think. The Force has returned to me, but not my memories.
Master Kenobi, an honor speaking to you. Kanan's told me much about you.
Out of curiosity- and I know this might be a little much to ask- do you know Ryl? And if you do, would you grant Kanan and I the honor of officiating our marriage?
[Of all the things he might have been expecting to be contacted about today... this was not one of them. So hopefully she will forgive him for a stunned silence on his end before he replies.]
Captain Syndulla, it is Captain, correct? The honor is mine, especially considering how you opened your home to me in my time of need. I regret that we didn’t get to speak more.
To answer your first question, I am fluent in Ryl.
As for the second, I must admit I am not accustomed to such things, as marriage has never been permitted in the Jedi Order.
However, extenuating circumstances being given due, I would be honored to do this for the both of you. You also have my heartfelt congratulations.
[ It comes out of no where; one minute, everything is fine, the next, the Force starts to feel... weird. It's an echo, that much is clear; it's not something that is out to attack Obi-Wan directly, but he's feeling the effects none the less. It's an unsettling chill, like the Dark Side is definitely at work, but doing what to whom is hard to immediately decipher, outside the fact that it's happening to someone he knows and cares for, and whomever it is, they're letting it happen. ]
[ It's not long before it gets worse, because of course it gets worse. Just as it feels like the chill is going to fade off like an unwanted memory, it comes crawling back; a creeping darkness that unintentionally pulls at Obi-Wan's consciousness. It quickly becomes suffocating, completely and wholly unpleasant, and everything just lurches, like reality itself is warping to the point of complete madness. ]
[ And then it just suddenly, sharply, stops, and a light that felt familiar dimmed, to the point that it's nearly impossible to feel who it was. ]
Hi there, sugar. Remember me? We spoke a few weeks ago about a support group for imPorts.
[ If the epithet doesn't remind him, those smooth southern tones probably will. One of the reasons she'd decided to send a voice message rather than good old text. ]
I only know that there will be one this month. A lot happened last month, so I can only imagine that Rogue had too much on her plate to lead a meeting.

Gene-- Sorry. Obi-Wan. When you're available, I'd like to meet to discuss either meditation or training with a lightsaber.

And, I find its good practice to meditate before training. So we can do both.
