I know it can't be done properly or anything, but he's got friends here. We might invite some of them around, but I know he'd be honored to have you there as well.
[ Given that Obi-Wan is the highest ranking Jedi here by a long shot, certainly Kanan feels the same. ]
Though I also think it appropriate to first ask what you think makes him ready to be a knight? Not that I doubt your judgement.
[After all Padawans has to go through the trials. Exceptions to that being some great accomplishment that would equal such a test. Obi-Wan is most curious about what Ezra has done.]
[ Kanan thinks about that for a long moment. It’s not that he’s in any way uncertain - he knows, deep down in himself, that Ezra has earned this. It’s simply a matter of putting it into words. Or perhaps - not so simply. ]
Master Billaba once told me, that sometimes being a Jedi means giving yourself over to a greater good. It took me a long, long time to fully understand what she meant by that. Sometimes we have to sacrifice, we have to lose things, in order to do the most good. Ezra - he was confronted with a choice, between his personal feelings and the good of his planet. He made the sacrifice, and he freed his planet.
I would say that is the very fabric of being a Jedi, yes. Denying ourselves and making sacrifices for the betterment of the world and people around us is what we are called to do.
I’m glad to hear that Ezra understands this and has done exactly that. Sometimes we are called to make very difficult decisions. I would like to hear his story sometime.
[Which would probably be better told by Ezra himself. He will have to ask him.
It’s clear by his tone that Obi-Wan is satisfied by Kanan’s answer.]
He does. Almost from the start, he's had a particularly strong connection with most animals we've encountered, especially the ones native to his homeworld, Lothal.

Also, he mentioned something about purrgils, I need to get more detail about that.

[He certainly knows what those are, but the fact that they’re involved in Ezra’s story has him all the more curious.]
He must have a way with animals.

[Obi-Wan himself was particularly gifted in bonding with animals as well. He had discovered as much around Ezra’s age.]
Also, I’m assuming you haven’t told Ezra your plans?
