Duplicity History: Upon arriving at Duplicity, Obi-Wan had been fresh from the worst disaster of his lifetime. While still dealing with the trauma he found himself in a world that required him to go against his personal vows as he had lived a life of celibacy beforehand. Inexperienced and uncertain, it seemed he would have a very difficult time adjusting. However, he met someone early on who would help him in that regard. Her name was Jyn Erso, and they met on the train. With Obi-Wan being drawn to the kyber crystal she carried and thus launching them into conversation. Her respect for his people, the Jedi, ultimately impressed him and he felt a connection with her instantly. A connection he knew he was unlikely to find with anyone else in Duplicity. So that very day he proposed the idea of forming a contract with her, to which she agreed as they both needed partners.
Even with the arrangement, Obi-Wan felt himself reluctant to comply with the city's requirements. However, Jyn ultimately convinced him as she told him of her own experiences with rebelling against the status quo. She understood his misgivings and how it went against everything he believed. With a gentle patience she became the teacher to the inexperienced Jedi. Easing him into the lifestyle that was demanded of them, which in turn helped them both meet their quotas. This led to a warm intimacy between them, and even blossomed into love. With Obi-Wan compromising his strict Jedi beliefs as he indulged in attachments and the pleasures of the flesh more and more with each passing week and month. Finding himself comfortable with his sexuality, and even happier in the new life he and Jyn made together as submissive and dominant. The two eventually sealing their commitment to each other with a permanent contract.
Unfortunately, it wasn't long after they had contracted permanently that Jyn disappeared. The Jedi deeply saddened and even more lost than perhaps he had been before. Due to his bereavement he spent almost an entire month severely depressed, and was only coaxed out of it by a friend who helped him make his quota. The thought of contracting with someone else though was unfathomable to him, and yet he knew he had to. It seemed an impossible task until a fateful week at camp caused him to cross paths with yet another charming dominant. One Albert Mason who he had a long conversation with on the shore of the lake. The two finding an immediate connection as well as they had a lot in common. After a few weeks of the two of them exploring their compatibility with each other through sex and otherwise, they decided to enter into a contract. However, it would be several weeks later that Obi-Wan was the one to disappear.
Personality:
Positive
- Selfless: Selflessness is at the center of being a Jedi and Obi-Wan models that perfectly. Putting others before himself for the well-being of those around him and the world as a whole. Just being a Jedi, leaving a normal life in the pursuit of his own happiness to instead serve the greater good, is the root of selflessness. The mission of a Jedi, and his life as a whole, is to help those who can not help themselves. Be it defending a planet like Naboo, fighting in the clone wars to bring peace back to the galaxy, or protecting a small boy on a desert planet.
Negative:
- Self-Sacrificing:
Going hand in hand with his selfless nature is the fact that he is self-sacrificing. To the point that he can arguably take it too far. Putting others before himself to the detriment of his own happiness and well being.
Being a Jedi is all he had ever wanted for as long as he can remember. Yet when he fell in love during his years as a Padawan, he chose to leave behind the promise of a happy life with the girl he loved to instead continue his training as a Jedi. Even though he would have left the order if she had asked. Yet when his own Padawan, Anakin, expressed a desire to leave the order, Obi-Wan was also willing to leave that life behind to follow him. To continue to train him as he had promised his dead master.
When the Jedi were then destroyed, his guilt was so great he decided against any life he could have made for himself and instead chose isolation on a desert planet to protect his student’s son. Later in life going on to literally sacrifice his own life for that boy. Obi-Wan living most of his life shackled to a promise he had made to the man who trained him. Ultimately leading to his own failure and leaving him a broken man.
Ironically this is in part what makes him a good submissive in that he puts the needs of others, especially his dominant, over his own. Even if it might cause him pain or discomfort. He would rather endure personal suffering than watch the suffering of those he cares about.
- Judgmental:
Stubbornly straight-laced and a firm believer of the Jedi ways, Obi-Wan can be judgmental to the point of preachy. He is set in his ways and it takes great pains for him to change that. Thus anyone, especially another Jedi, who doesn’t fall into a similar pattern is met with scrutiny. This can be seen in his criticism of Anakin time and time again, when he was his student and beyond that. He also often has no problem letting his disapproval be known. Even so much as arguing with Luke over their differing opinions on what it means to be a Jedi. He coming from a different time and line of thought than Anakin’s son did. His desire to preserve the ways of his people playing into that, and finding it hard to accept that times have changed and that he and the Jedi must change with it.
- Overbearing:
Going along with his judgmental side is his ability to take it too far and be overbearing. An example of this being his flagrant criticism of Anakin, especially when still a Padawan. Taking it beyond simple rebuke and overdoing it in his own irritation. He also does this in his efforts to protect people. Again Anakin, who he loves very much, is the unfortunate target as he tries to hold back and slow him down in his learning in order to protect him from himself. Which led to his Padawan’s frustration and sometimes resentment. Luke has also found himself on this side of the Jedi who has overdone his role as protector. Nearly smothering Luke in his efforts due to his own shame and guilt. Also treating him like a child from time to time as that is how Obi-Wan sometimes sees him considering Luke is just a baby back home.
Powers and Abilities:
Obi-Wan is a force sensitive Jedi and comes with all the powers and abilities that entails. Ranging from super human abilities from increased strength, speed, agility, stamina, and the ability to perform exceptional physical feats. He also has heightened mental abilities in that he has a sense of foresight, is able to perform telekinesis, is empathic as well as telepathic to a degree. He can also use the Force to promote healing and is especially talented at mental manipulation such as the Jedi Mind Trick.
