A light sigh and Obi-Wan’s expression softened. Anakin certainly had made some poor decisions, and he had a better understanding of why. Still, the repentant words meant a lot.

“And I’m sorry I wasn’t a better friend. That you couldn’t feel safe trusting me.”

He had his own regrets clearly, but maybe... hopefully, they could put this behind them and heal each other’s wounds. So with that, Obi-Wan leaned back and held out an arm to him in an offered embrace.

“Come.”

At last, the younger man found it in him to smile again. It was a small, a shy smile, but a smile nonetheless.

"How do I even deserve you..." he muttered, more to himself, but very willingly accepted the older man's offer for simple, physical closeness.

Lying back down as well, Anakin wrapped his arms around Obi-Wan and let himself be pulled into the embrace while at the same time returning it, telling himself and his mind to relax once more and just enjoy the soothing experience to be close to this man he loved so much.

His smile broadened as the offer was accepted, though he had little reason to believe it wouldn’t be. Pulling him over, he let Anakin’s head rest against his chest. His arms also going around the man he loved just as deeply. Also allowing his presence in the Force to wrap around Anakin in a soothing manner. Just as he pulled the blanket over them.

“Now, get some rest, dear one.”

A kiss was placed on Anakin’s brow.

“Good night.”

Comfortable and settled in, he then closed his eyes to allow himself to drift off again as well.

[Waiting for Obi-Wan on his doorstep is a box of homemade cookies with a note.]

[Sometime during the Christmas Day, a red-tailed hawk will appear at Obi-Wan’s window, bearing gifts for both Anakin and Obi-Wan. They will have to be careful; the hawk is a bit of a biter.]

[Their gift will include a small tin of basbousa cakes for them to enjoy, as well as two pouches of tea leaves. Tucked away inside the bundle is also a note.]

I don’t know now how much you know about the holiday of Christmas, but where I am from it is customary to give gifts at this time. Here’s hoping that you both enjoy and have a happy holiday.

[Obi-Wan will receive a handwritten note ("This entitles you to one sandwich from a restaurant on me. - Finn") and a small box containing this necklace.]

[Urgency colors Ezra's voice, bordering even on fear.]

Master Kenobi? Are you there? Please answer me.

[He doesn’t answer right away but after a few moments he does respond.]

Yes, Ezra? Is everything all right?

I... yeah... no. I mean, right now it is, but not-

I had a vision, and you got hurt in it. Soon.

[Theres a pause, but you can almost hear the sigh on his end. But there is a bit of mixed feelings that trickles through.]

A vision? ... Ezra, be mindful of your feelings.

Visions can be... well, they are not always literal. They are something that may come to pass, but if you are not careful, you may make them come to pass by trying to prevent it.

I appreciate the warning, but I have seen it happen before. Do not rush into action because of something you saw that might not come true.

[Well, that's certainly not the reaction Ezra had been expecting. Ezra frowns, consternation prickling the edges of their connection.]

But couldn't the opposite be true? It might happen because I didn't do anything to stop it?

I'm not rushing into action. I'm warning you. Don't go into any buildings when these animals are around.

[He sends an image to Obi-Wan of the Rhicows he saw, armor-plated bovine beasts.]

[Obi-Wan committed the images of the beasts to his memory.]

I haven’t seen those before, but I will keep a look out.

But please do keep my warning in mind also, Ezra. A lot of people died once when someone had a vision, of the death of someone they cared about, and tried to stop it from happening.

[Not long after Obi-wan's last conversation with Qui-gon.]

[She didn't know what happened. Had no idea what was going on, but if it's one thing she remembered about her last time here, it was the mushrooms.]

[There seemed to be a forest of them springing up around the place, and that meant one thing.]

[Her voice was cautious and careful as she reached out to him.]

Master Kenobi? [She started, but then softly said instead:] ... Obi-wan. Are you alright?

[Obi-Wan had indeed gone home, filled with emotions he didn't want, but had nonetheless. Sitting himself down in his bedroom, where he hoped to have some privacy, the man practically wilted in his grief. The mushrooms being the result of that.

He was then almost startled as Ahsoka's voice reached out to him. And yet it was familiar and comforting. Thus he accepted opening a channel to her, but was unable to hold back the flood of grief.]

Ahsoka... I...

...

No, I'm afraid not.

[When the grief hit with the accepted connection she was taken back, a hand to her chest, over her heart as she felt it hit. She reached out to touch the counter to make sure she was stable before bringing herself back to a state of calm.]

[Surprise would drift through her connection, and concern.]

I do not mean to interrupt or pry, but I... had a feeling and thought I should check on you.

Is there anything I can do for you? Would you like to talk?

[It wasn't often that Obi-Wan would admit that something wasn't right with him personally. But well, this was Ahsoka. There was no way he could hide it from her, especially not when it was so obvious, and he knew it.

Still, there was a few moments of pause before Obi-Wan answered.]

... It's Master Qui-Gon.

[She frowned as he said the Master's name. She knows he's here still, and she's seen him but she's not had much connection to him. But still, she knew her history well enough. Knew that wasa Obi-wan's Master. And the man that originally was going to train Anakin as well.]

[There is a pause as she seems to reach out in the force, just searching for his presence, speaking softly. Questioningly.]

Did something happen? He hasn't been hurt, has he?

[Because she has no idea what has been happening between them. Whatever it is, she's already going to her cupboard of teas. Things she has collected. A pot of water put on.]

[Letting out a shaky breath, Obi-Wan tried to compose himself. He always tried to have a handle on his emotions, even though he was working to embrace them more in this world.]

No. I believe that would actually be easier.

[It hurt, and he felt terrible for saying it. But it was the truth.]

We have had some... irreconcilable differences.

[Huh. Well THAT was a surprise. That would be EASIER? This does sound bad. The grief was still there, and those words sounded like his heart was hurt. Ahsoka tapped her chin, looking over her teas, looking for the right one.]

I have noticed that all Masters and their Apprentices tend to have... differences. At some point of another. Still, this sounds rather deep.

Would you like to talk? I'm making tea. And even if you don't want to talk, I'll bring some to you if you wish.

We were certainly no different.

[Obi-Wan had certainly had his fair share of arguments with his master. Some rather big ones too. But this was... different.]

I think I would like that, actually.

But this is different.

[The way she said it wasn't a question. It was a statement of what she was feeling from him. A moment of understanding. She choose a tea of a calming nature, and mixed it with another like it but with a bit of warmth and love. She was the kind to find teas that did not alter one's emotions when drinking it, but simply offered a bit of the feeling to help one relax.]

[These were some of her favorites.]

I will be up in a couple of minutes then.

[And he would hear her after a couple of minutes, coming up the steps.]

[And just before she got there, the door to his room would open just a little bit, seemingly on his own. An invitation for Ahsoka to come in.

She would find him in a chair, in the corner, by a window. The man looking as melancholy as he had felt through the connection. Slightly slumped with shoulders drooping, and fungus dotting the wooden floor boards.

As soon as Anakin’s former Padawan came in, he looked up at her with a weak attempt at a smile. Reaching out to take the tea she had brought.]

Thank you.

[She had two large mugs of tea, carefully nudging the door open with a hip, and closing it completely as she came in. Obi-wan, please. Seated by a window and this sad looking? This must really be bad.]

[She handed him the tea and moved to settle on her knees and shins near by, seated on the floor, a hand reaching out to pluck a few mushrooms.]

Anytime. I noticed the abnormal amount of mushrooms and thought something must be up. I'm thinking of trying to make a wild mushroom and rice soup later.

[She said it with a small smile, as if to bring a bit of light to the room.]
