[Ezra's... not necessarily scolding, but he feels like that should be acknowledged.]
So you think there's still hope for him, since he let you live. [A pause. An uncertain frown.] Even after what he did to me? I mean, even if part of Anakin Skywalker's still there, he's still Darth Vader, too.
no subject
Yes, I do. He's confused and uncertain, but not entirely lost.
[It was hard to explain to someone who had not been there. Who had not seen what he had seen. But despite everything, Anakin had not reached his lowest point.]

But trust is hard to rebuild after it's been broken, and Anakin crushed it pretty well when Ezra met him. Then, too, there's the fact that he's Vader, bringing all the emotional baggage that Ezra has along with it. He's not in a place to let that go yet and see the potential here.
It's not something he wants to argue with Obi-Wan about, though. Not while the man is sick. So Ezra just releases a long breath, running a hand across his face.]
I guess we'll have to see.
[But that's not all he came in here to talk to Obi-Wan for, even if that was the most pressing thing. Ezra reaches down, unclipping his lightsaber from his belt.]
Actually, I had something else I wanted to ask. V- Anakin took my lightsaber when we fought, and now he gave it back. He said he fixed it, though.
[Ezra scowls. He's still very much offended by that.]
I've taken it apart and put it back together, and I think I know what he did, but I don't trust it. Would you look at it for me? Just to be sure?
no subject
At the mention of his lightsaber, Obi-Wan's brows lifted in surprise and then a faint smile graced his lips. So he had given it back.]
Of course.
[He then reached out to take the weapon and looked it over, a brow lifting slightly.]
I've seen many lightsaber designs in my time, but this one is certainly unique. And it's a blaster too?
[He then carefully opened it up to look in at the crystal energy chamber and the circuitry.]
no subject
Yeah. So I can use it without people realizing I'm a Jedi, or if I need to defend myself from someone too far away for me to reach. I'm not that good at deflecting blaster fire yet, so it really helps. Kanan figured out a neat trick with it, too, for switching the mode in the middle of a fight to catch someone off their guard.
[He traces his fingers through the air above the exposed circuitry.]
See how I had to connect them both to the power core, though? How I have to switch between one or the other so it doesn't overload? The wiring there kind of worried me before, even though I couldn't figure out a better arrangement. He changed it, though, and now...
[Now it might actually be more stable.]
no subject
Yes, I see. That could have been quite a problem, but I think I have a feeling what he might have done. The way it's wired here makes it more efficient and less taxing on the crystal. From what I can see, it appears to be just fine.
[And with that, he snapped the casing back into place and offered the lightsaber back to Ezra.]
Anakin has always been good at fixing things.
[There's a certain fondness that's clear in his voice despite the way he sounds right now. Like a parent who is proud of their child.]
no subject
He reaches out to take his lightsaber back with a sigh.]
Did he ever do that to you? Fix your things without asking you first?
no subject
Oh... yes. He would do many things without asking.
[Far more than Obi-Wan could count really.]
no subject
[Ezra grumbles as he clips his saber back to his belt. Yes, it's petty, and no, it won't do anything for the situation now, but it'll make him feel better knowing someone yelled at Anakin for stuff like this once.]
Thanks, Master Kenobi. I'll let you get back to resting.
no subject
[Now his tone took on a bit of exasperation and perhaps a hint of regret. There were times he had probably been too hard on Anakin as well.
However there was a tired smile on his face at Ezra's gratitude.]
You're quite welcome, Ezra. My door is always open.
no subject
Ezra hops down off the bed, feeling marginally better for having talked with Obi-Wan, even if he's still pretty conflicted about Anakin.]
Alright. I hope you feel better.
[That's an honest wish, at least, and the words he'll part with before he lets himself back out of the room.]
