4/3? 4/4? something like that
[Rey's been thinking a lot lately. About Kylo Ren and the lightsaber he now has. She asked Obi-Wan not to take it, and a large part of her hated that he had to go talk to Kylo to begin with. It should've been her, she knows. It was her responsibility to keep that saber away from him, and she failed. And Obi-Wan had to go try to fix things while she was, what? Creating a desert in the yard and slashing at some bushes? Real heroic there, Rey. Letting a kind man who's already taken on enough of everyone's problems handle hers too.
Well, that's over, she's decided. She's long since accepted that Kylo Ren is her responsibility, that he's a burden she can't ask anyone else to bear. It's time she started following up on that.
She knows Obi-Wan has been ill, so she waits until one of the occasional times he's shuffled out of his room to track him down.]
Obi-Wan? I was wondering if I could talk to you about something. It won't take long. [She assumes.]

But he has emerged from his room, trying to not look half dead as he shuffles downstairs and plops himself on the sofa. He then reaches for a blanket and pulls it around himself because why in blazes is it so cold in here? Someone must be having an emotional episode. Except not, because it's just him being feverish.
Satine also decides to jump into Obi-Wan's lap and curls up there. The cat purring softly in perhaps her own attempt to warm him up.
Despite his efforts though he looks miserable. Even as Rey comes in. Blood shot, glassy eyes look up at her and he tries to smile.]
Of course. What is it?

I've decided.... Since Kylo Ren and that lightsaber are both my responsibility, I'll handle getting it back from him from here. I know you've been worrying. I don't want to put more on you than I already have. I appreciate all your help, I really, really do, but you don't have to worry about it any more.
no subject
I understand what you're saying.
[He says this quietly, his voice a little strained.]
But this is something I can't let you handle alone.
no subject
He must think she's not a match for Kylo. Which... she supposes she isn't, not really. But that didn't stop her from beating him once before. Obi-Wan just needs to understand that she can do this and not get hurt.]
I've defended that saber from him before. He doesn't try to take it from me, and I think I can figure out how to get it from him without a fight. I can do this. I don't need help.
no subject
What is your plan, then?
no subject
I was going to talk to him, for starters.
[And she hadn't figured out the rest.... She sounds the slightest bit defensive, because damn it, Obi-Wan is supposed to relaxing and freed from a burden, not interrogating her!]
no subject
Rey... I understand you feel responsible, but I don't think its a good idea.
no subject
He won't hurt me, Obi-Wan. He doesn't hurt me. He's had chances, back in our galaxy, and he didn't kill me then. [She hopes he doesn't notice her switching from "hurt" to "kill." Kylo Ren hurt her back in their galaxy, certainly, and it doesn't seem like he regretted it. But killing her she's sure he avoided. Here, though, he's softer, and short of another ghost possession, she believes he'd avoid hurting her altogether.]
That's why he's my responsibility. If anyone can do this, it's me.
no subject
This isn't just about you Rey. Not anymore.
no subject
But it is. Kylo Ren has my lightsaber. I'm the least likely to be hurt, so I have to be the one to get it back from him. No one else has to be involved.
[And now a hint of frustration flares up, because Rey can only hold her temper for so long.] I'm trying to help you!
no subject
[Obi-Wan sighed and rubbed his forehead as a headache started coming on. He knew Rey was upset, and he didn't want to fight. But...]
You're not the only one who feels responsible, Rey.
no subject
But the thing that really makes her temper flare is the blow to her pride. The lightsaber is one of the few things she can sense reliably in the Force right now, and she knows she has a connection to it. Obi-Wan's words almost feel like he's cheapening that, which hits her pride, and the ever-present scavenger in her rankles at the implication that it's not hers.]
It is mine! [She can't help raising her voice or the indignation in her tone.] It came to me. It called me! I feel this crystal as if it were a part of me! If that doesn't make it mine then what does??
