Oh, yes, I have no plans.

[Ingo didn't have a social life when he lived here, he certainly hasn't sprouted one since.]

A new arrival?

That's right. Her name is Satine and...

[A pause as he's not sure how Ingo will take this, but he's going to be honest.]

She's Bo-Katan's sister.

[offtracks]

[Ingo just blinks, though that's a fairly strong response from him.]

Oh. That...can happen? Well, no, I suppose that makes sense.

[He sort of immediately regrets saying anything - even if they’re decidedly not friends, her sister's death is not for him to spread around. But Obi-Wan must know already, right? Anyway - it’s a matter of time more than resurrection. He'll be long dead too, by Emmet’s time.

.....he wonders if she'll let him have Emmet back now. Probably not.]

[Now Obi-Wan looks a little surprised.]

Oh. You know about her.

[Maybe it shouldn’t be surprising since he knows Bo-Katan, but still. Obi-Wan himself is painfully aware of Satine’s death. He was there, after all.]

Anyway. We can do this in the house. We have a meditation room that is quiet and private. Or we can do it at a location of your choosing.

She...came up once.

[He's not even all that sure why. An explanation for why Bo-Katan felt so strongly about protecting Emmet, he supposes. But he wouldn’t discuss Emmet with someone he hated.]

[Its a sensitive subject so Obi-Wan doesn’t press.]

Alright then, come with me.

[Leading Ingo towards the house, Obi-Wan sends Ezra a message that they’re coming in and to meet them in the meditation room.]

[Ingo nods and falls into step. Walking back into the house, the embarrassment and guilt slams back into him all over again - but it's just for now. This can't take very long if Obi-Wan has plans to show Satine around soon. Hopefully he can just be in and out.]

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ezra has brought down the bag he's put together recently, which contains some medical supplies, and the large healing crystal Obi-Wan gave him for his birthday. And now he's arranging some cushions in a loose circle.

He looks up when they come in and offers a game smile.]

Hello again, Ingo.

[Obi-Wan didn’t know how long it would take. It really just depended on how it went. Though he would not cut things short for the sake of his own convenience. If they can help Ingo, then that took priority.

As they step into the room, Obi-Wan turns on the light on the outside of the door once he’s closed. Signaling that the room is occupied and that privacy is desired.]

Please, have a seat my friend.

[The Jedi Master motioning towards the cushions before he too moves to sit. An appreciative look given to Ezra.]

[Ingo ducks his head in greeting to Ezra, tugging the brim of his hat down with one hand to cover his eyes. He still feels terrible about his behavior when he was last here! The embarrassment is more managable with Obi-Wan, whom he knows better, but Ezra? Sinnoh this is horrifying

He goes to sit where bid, legs folded underneath himself and hands resting on his knees.]

[Ezra settle on his own cushions.]

Ok. What do we need to talk over before we...do anything? [He looks more towards Ingo, as he asks.]

[Obi-Wan turns his attention towards Ingo as well.]

If there’s anything you want tell us, what you’re comfortable or uncomfortable with, now is the time.

...what sort of things do you mean?

[He really has no idea what this might entail!]

Well, let me make sure I understand the facts, I guess. It can help us figure out how to potentially help you.

You're missing most of your memories before a certain point, right?

[Obi-Wan nods at what Ezra says and looks at Ingo.

Once they can get as much information as Ingo can give them, they can then go about explaining how this will work.]

Oh! Yes - all of them, before eight years ago. I...have only ever managed to recall a few impressions. That I knew a world where people and Pokemon lived close together, not like in Hisui. That I regularly battled with a man who resembled me, and that I had a Fire-type partner. But those were...vague. I did not recognize Emmet when I actually saw him.

[Slightly remarkable, when they’re identical - but that had only made Ingo think him some kind of doppelganger.]

Eight years. Not many memories recovered. Any issues forming newer memories, that you know of?

[Obi-Wan is thoughtfully stroking his beard as he listens, taking in what Ingo says. He glances at Ezra as he poses a new question, waiting for Ingo to reply before chiming in again.]

Actually the fact that you've been able to remember anything at all, even just a few impressions, is hopeful. There's a good chance your memories are still there, just that your brain has been unable to access them.

Ah - I do not believe so? I imagine someone would have noticed by now.

[Ingo's a bit concerned at the idea of having continual memory issues! But he's fairly sure he doesn't, so he allows himself to be comforted a bit by Obi-Wan's comment.]

That is...what I have always thought. At least, after I did recall those impressions. But that was quite some time ago, and it has not happened again.

[Ezra nods.] I agree, this is hopeful. If there were damage to the brain tissue itself that was too great - there may be other healers here who could help beyond natural regeneration, but there only is so much Master Kenobi and I could do for you. On a physical level, our healing abilities mostly speed along natural healing, you've had plenty of time for your body to do what it can, there.

If it is more a block within the mind, or perhaps the result of some outside influence on you, that we should at the very least be able to detect. Hopefully, find a way to help you resolve.

Yes, exactly.

[With something that did a complete wipe, like a mind flayer, there would be no hope. At least not with their abilities, but they might be able to work with this. Which makes Obi-Wan feel more confident in the possible attempt.]

Though I will need to warn you that any attempt would require us to look into your mind. That may sound invasive, and it certainly can be. Though we will do everything we can to maintain your privacy and comfort. Unfortunately, there are some things we may not be able to avoid. There are always uncertainties and risks with attempting something like this, not all of which is predictable. But I can assure you that if we sense anything wrong we will pull back immediately.

With that said, we will need your explicit consent. We will also need you to stay as calm as possible. If you do wish to go through with this, and then decide to stop, tell us at any time.

[Ingo's face remains as impassive as always, but his tone's definitely nervous. He doesn't...particularly want other people in his mind.

But this is for Emmet's sake. It does not matter what he feels about it, not when he's the source of Emmet's pain.]

Yes, of course. I am willing.

[Ezra is not oblivious to Ingo's nerves; he would be surprised if anyone in this situation weren't a little conflicted.

That's fine. Everyone is allowed their feelings, but they do not have to be all and end all of one's choices. So Ezra takes him at his word.]

Ok. I think that's enough for us to...agree to begin. [But neither should feelings be completely ignored! The balance between these two truths are, at least as far as Ezra's understanding, in many ways the essence of Jedi practice.] The next step is Master Kenobi and I, centering ourselves, so we can as calm as possible and focused before examining your mind. As Obi-Wan said, as much is possible for you to center yourself, that would be helpful as well.

It's...difficult to predict would you might or might not sense from us, when we make contact. Everyone is different. But again, if at any point you want to stop or slow down, say stop. Or think it loudly. Or tap the floor three times. We won't override your consent, but we will exercise our judgement if we feel it's wiser to come to a halt as well.

[Looking to Ezra, Obi-Wan gives a nod of agreement and approval for them to continue. He then turns his attention back to Ingo.]

My recommendation is that you close your eyes and breathe deeply to help you relax.

[The Jedi then demonstrates by doing that himself. Closing his eyes he breathes deeply and settles into the embrace of the Force. Allowing any apprehension or doubt flow out of him.]

[Ingo closes his eyes and imitates Obi-Wan's breathing. It's a little difficult to relax - he's nervous about the prospect of this whole thing to begin with, and more than that, there is so much riding on this. Fixing his memories is the only way he'll ever be allowed to openly associate with Emmet. They've agreed to meet secretly again, but that can't be a permanent solution, right? Sooner or later, if Ingo doesn't improve, things will reach another breaking point...

Relax. He's supposed to be relaxing.]
